Many parents are used to therapy for their child being something that happens once a week over a long period of time. Let me show you a different format that can bring a different kind of progress.
This is where intensive clinics come in.
I work in short, focused blocks of Equine Assisted Therapy over four to five consecutive days. Each day includes two sessions, usually around 15–20 minutes on the equine, with a one-hour break in between. The sessions are short on purpose. For children, especially younger ones, quality is always more important than duration.

So why do I work this way?
Because the body — and especially the central nervous system — learns through repetition and meaningful, positive experience.
Through repeated, precisely guided input, we support the creation of new neural pathways, allowing desired movement patterns to emerge spontaneously.
At the same time, the days after the clinic are just as important. The body needs time to process and integrate what it has experienced. Often, the most visible changes appear a few days or even weeks later, once the system has had time to consolidate.
This is something parents often notice.
A child who struggled with posture begins to hold the head more steadily. A child who was hesitant in movement becomes more confident. These changes may seem small at first, but they often open the door to further development.
Through repeated, precisely guided input, we support the creation of new neural pathways, allowing desired movement patterns to emerge spontaneously.
Another important aspect is continuity.
In weekly therapy, progress is often interrupted by illness, holidays, or everyday life. In an intensive clinic, the process is much less likely to be disrupted. The child completes a full cycle of work, which enhances the overall effect of the therapy.
Motivation also plays a key role.
Children enter an engaging environment that differs from their daily routine. The equine, the movement, the outdoor setting, and the presence of a consistent and supportive team create a space where children often become more attentive and more willing to participate. And parents can relax.
There is also something very valuable for families.
During these few days, parents meet other parents. They share experiences and questions. This sense of connection can be just as important as the therapy itself.
Our clinics are open to children of different ages and with a wide range of needs. Each session is adapted individually, guided by observation, clinical reasoning, and the child’s response in that moment.
Safety is always a priority. The sessions are conducted with carefully selected, well-prepared equines, supported by an experienced team, and continuously adapted to each child’s needs.
For parents, these few days often bring more than just therapy. They offer a new perspective on their child and on what is possible when the right conditions are in place.
For families who would like to experience this approach, we will be organising an intensive programme as part of a family retreat in Crete this year. It is designed to combine structured Equine-Assisted Therapy sessions with time for rest, connection, and shared family experiences.
